ORCID

ORCID is a non-profit organization of international scope, whose mission is to tackle the problem of name ambiguity in academic communication by providing a unique and enduring author identifier: the Open Researcher and Contributor Identifier, also known as the ORCID iD.

ORCID is funded through subscriptions from its member organizations, which include research centres, publishers, sponsors, professional associations, and other actors in the research ecosystem. There are currently more than 1,100 organizations that are part of ORCID.

FECYT joined ORCID in 2019 with the aim of being able to make use of its web services and to keep up to date with the international advances that are being made in this area and thus improve the interrelation between the RECOLECTA platform and the Normalized Curriculum Vitae (CVN).
