OpenAIRE is a technology and service infrastructure created in 2009 to support, accelerate and measure the correct implementation of European policies for open access to scientific publications and research data. OpenAIRE has a solid network of National Open Access Desks (NOADs), agents that act as national reference points to disseminate the open access policies of the European Commission among institutions and researchers, as well as facilitating the co-ordination of national policies with European ones.

FECYT has been part of all the OpenAIRE consortia, since its first edition, as the Spanish NOAD. The synergies between OpenAIRE and RECOLECTA are very strong in all aspects related to the standardization of identifiers and the interoperability of open access repositories.
